NISSREEN NAJJAR
Nissreen Najjar (b. 1985- Nazareth)
Najjar is a Palestinian Artist who uses drawing, video, performance, sculpture/installation, and photography to navigate the formation of identity and its transformation in different contexts or power structures. Her personal biography has always been the starting point in creating her artworks; the private and the collective are mixed, like two elements in constant diffusion. she translates her observations concerning personal, social, and geopolitical changes that her homeland is undergoing. for the last couple of years, she has been examining how the perception of mapping landscape influences the “Raw Material” in the artwork.
Najjar obtained her BFA and MFA at Bezalel academy of arts and design in Jerusalem, and she completed the post-graduate program in Lècole des beaux art, Lyon. In addition to her Art practice, Najjar has been Lecturing in the art field for the last 10 years in different Universities.
She has had several exhibitions in France, Italy, Japan, Denmark, Greece, Jordan, Palestine and Sweden.
